A Recap on the 2021-2022 School Year

We were able to complete the STEM lab.  Our volunteers spent countless hours applying  wall decals, setting up 3d printers and other tech and assembling and arranging furniture.  We are happy to be funding the Northwestern FUSE curriculum that teachers will be using in the STEM lab.  Teachers attended training during summer of 2022 and will  implement the STEM curriculum for the 2022/23 school year.

We were also able to provide a book vending machine for the school.  Mrs. Clark came back to help cut the ribbon for the machine, as it was purchased to honor her 28 years of service at Skinner West. Students will be able to earn coins to get free books.

Another big project we worked on was providing large games for indoor recess during the Winter. We were able to fund many games such as giant Connect 4 and giant building blocks.  The students were able to use these every time there was inclement weather.

During summer of 2022, we updated our outdoor teaching garden space by moving planters and adding sun shades.  Teachers and students will be able to use this space for learning and play.
